This course examines the reciprocal relationship between architecture and technology, broadly defined to include building technology as well as the role of technology in the design process, considering digitalisation, communication, virtualisation, visualisation and fabrication. This course explores the philosophical underpinnings of technology and technology's role in architectural culture. Current discourses are examined, and technology is studied in relation to ethics, sustainable practices, aesthetics, politics, culture and society in a variety of contexts.
