Architectural Representation
This class is designed to be an exploration of Representation. Representation is a key element in how we read and provide meaning in architecture. This class is not about the how of making buildings but why we build. In other words, it is not simply a technical communications course. It is presented as a theory course on Representation. One important goal of this class is for students to learn how concepts of Representation impact the architecture that we make and the architecture that we experience. It is the understanding of the ‘why’ that pertains to all aspects of architecture, both complex relationships and abstract concepts, that is of importance.
