ENG 942
Decolonizing Literature
Students engage in in-depth analysis of theories, debates, and practices surrounding the emergence and ongoing relevance of postcolonial, or decolonizing, literatures. Students explore how such literature challenges oppressive imperial and colonial social and political structures in the West. Students also make connections between postcolonial concepts and anti-oppression vocabularies and practices, and connect cultural texts to ongoing struggles for equity, political, and social justice.
