Fur Design
This course is an introduction to the use of fur and skins in apparel design. Students will survey the fur industry from historical and present day perspectives. The unique characteristics of specific furs will be identified and discussed in terms of design implications and production requirements. Students will design fur and fur-trimmed garments and accessories. Muslins will be constructed and critiqued. Lectures will supplement the theoretical and studio components of the course.
