GEO 210
Geography of Hazards
This course examines risks that arise from global threats posed by various natural and human-made hazards. From a Canadian perspective, it sets out to provide an understanding of how their potential for harm to the individual and community is perceived by the public. Mechanisms that have been developed to reduce the levels of threat to life and property are assessed. This is accomplished by examining selected geophysical, biological, climatic, environmental and malevolent factors that impinge on well-being.

Took it with Raymond Garrison, good lectures and lenient marker. Grade was composed of 2 tests worth 15% each, an exam worth 30%, and a research paper about climate change worth 40%.

I took mine with Rymond Garrison and he was great. Highlighted some things that would be on the test. Don't get too distracted thinking its a bird course but if you STUDY the slides you'll get an easy A. Try to start the paper ahead of time.
