GEO 655
Queer Geographies
Queerness is everywhere and exists in contrast to dominant norms. This course explores the ways that queerness is place-based, and land-based, public and private, and how it is constructed by queers in community. Focusing on Indigenous, Black, and Brown scholarship we will consider questions such as what is queerness? How does queerness live in place? What makes a queer space? Through lectures and class discussion we will explore Queer Spatiality.

One of my favourite courses this semester!
The content was engaging and marking always felt justified and/or fair. Every class felt like hanging out with friends which made it a great cool down between more intense classes. I had Professor Ishma and she was a delight, I highly recommend this course.
