HIS 760
The African Diaspora
This course examines the African Diaspora in world history and asks how the concept illuminates our understanding of global inter-connectedness. We first locate the diaspora in space and time, and cover an array of topics including the Atlantic Slave Trade and its cultural, political, and economic legacies; abolitionism; Pan-Africanism; African religious and secular movements, and African institutions.
