Indigenous Peoples, Pol and Reconciliation
The course introduces perspectives on Indigenous Peoples in Canada through an examination of policy. Central to this course is the study of Indigenous Peoples’ experience with colonialism, such as the residential school system and child welfare, as well as the struggle for self-determination. Indigenous worldviews and developing partnerships/alliances with Indigenous communities will also be explored. Students will be expected to critically examine these topics from the perspective of their discipline/profession.
