PHL 202
Philosophy of Technology
Understanding human experience in the modern world requires examining our relationship with technology. Taking the socio-political nature of technology seriously, the course may consider questions such as: What is technology? What are today’s pressing issues? What can we do about them? The course examines philosophical writings about a range of technologies (e.g,. social media, geoengineering, AI, industrial agriculture) and may consider concepts like values-in-design, eco-literacy,
power dynamics and bias.
