Introduction to Ethics
This course surveys a number of historical and contemporary approaches to moral philosophy, an inquiry into how we ought to live. Students will explore some of the key concepts and arguments in Aristotle's ethics of virtue and Kant's ethics of personal duties, as well as selected theories from other classical or more recent philosophers such as Mengzi, Beauvoir, Appiah, Hospers, Williams, Noddings, Nussbaum, or Driver.
