PHL 675
Hannah Arendt
One of the twentieth century’s most influential political thinkers, Hannah Arendt analyzed the crises of her time, including fascism, colonialism, imperialism, totalitarianism, anti-Semitism, and post-war migration. She also grappled with timeless philosophical questions concerning the nature of evil, the meaning of a life, responsibility and judgment, and what it means to think. This course will explore some of these themes with a view to their contemporary relevance.
