Non-State Actors and Global Security
This course provides a comparative examination of a range of transnational actors who are key to the conduct of war and the governance of peace, and of how they interact with states and each other. It explores the identities, organization, strategies and influence of transnational actors involved in armed conflict and in the pursuit of peace. These actors include foreign fighters, terrorists, private military security companies, corporations, religious groups, diasporas, refugees, NGOs, and women's peace groups. (Global)
