POG 431
Power, Domination and Resistance
From Machiavelli's reflections on how a ruler might maintain power, to those of revolutionaries concerned with overthrowing it, political thinkers have long grappled with the nature of power, and resistance to it. This course engages with the work of liberal, Marxist, anti-colonial, post-structural, feminist and anti-racist theorists to reflect upon these questions in the context of contemporary politics.
