Ideas, Tech and Precedents II
This course provides a global view of the ideas shaping architecture and urbanism in the world from the 15th to the 18th centuries. This historical and theoretical overview explores ideas, trends, and major buildings during a period of increased urbanization and greater contact across civilizations using architectural examples from many cultures. Topics are explored through lectures, group discussions, and a variety of media, including numerous primary sources. Students will engage critically with architecture and history through research and writing.
